Programme Note
The score was a collaboration with the multi-talented player at the Royal Academy of Music, bassoonist Jenni Cooper, who was also able to play a number of other instruments as part of her musical journey. It was presented at the PLG 14th Young Composers’ Symposium at the Royal Festival Hall (Southbank Centre). The score is a free journey through all the instruments I play, creating a very ‘naturalistic’ sound world, full of imitations and echoes. Live electronics include playing pre-recorded samples as indicated in the score.
