Violin solo and 4 speaker surround
Programme Note
Imagination is a violin solo journey through the worlds amplified by other violins. Original version is written for live acoustic violin surround, and this edition for violin and four speakers was created for violnist Abraham Brody’s solo concert. It was written in the year when composer Jonathan Harvey passed away. He has been inspiration to me, and his electro-acoustics works and the way of thinking about music deeply inspired me in many ways, including my continuous interest in surround sound and its effect on ones imagination. So this piece is a journey of imagination, where violin travels through different states of minds, and is being amplified and echoed by other violins. They initially act as surround amplification, but eventually take over and generate their own material, too. The piece is dedicated to Jonathan Harvey.
The score demonstrates the acoustic version of the composition, for violin solo version please contact privately.
